My name is Jim Yen.  I completed my undergraduate studies in medicine and surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2005.  I started as an intern at Eastern Health in Melbourne before moving to Queensland to spend some time working as a resident medical officer and medical superintendent in rural Queensland.  From there, I enrolled to train as a Specialist Anaesthetist, completing basic anaesthetic training at Hervey Bay Hospital and Rockhampton Hospital and advanced anaesthetic training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital and the Townsville Hospital.  I graduated as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in 2016 and have been in public and private anaesthetic practice since then.  I have maintained my knowledge and skills through active participation in the ANZCA continuing professional development program.  I also hold postgraduate certifications in clinical ultrasound and health education.

Currently I provide private anaesthetic services at the majority of private hospitals, particularly in the eastern and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  I also provide public anaesthetic services at Eastern Health.

I can speak with you in English, Mandarin, and to a limited extent Cantonese and Taiwanese.  I also love a chat in Spanish.
